Say Goodbye to California and Hello to Oregon!

Log Entry #2
Rhys and I got an early start Monday morning out of Red Bluff heading west on the beautiful Highway 36 toward Wildwood CA.
From there the turns got tighter and more abundant as we worked are way from Hayfork to Happy Camp riding on roads without straightaways!
We than followed the Highway 96 along the Klamath River to Highway 5 were we sprinted 90 miles up to Roseburg Oregon.
After 200 plus miles of wrestling all those turns it was nice to hit the cruise control and relax for awhile on are way across the border. What an awesome day of riding!

Tuesday morning we headed towards Coos Bay via Sitkum Road. We had to jockey our way through a bunch of flighty dear with there fawns in tow. They were everywhere!
It wasn't long before we were riding on dirt and gravel roads, then some real nice country roads headed through Dora, McKinley, Fairview, Sumner and skirting Coos Bay via East Bay Road to Highway 101. The rain was pretty steady along the coast but we were wrapped in Gortex so no worries. Just keep on truckin!
Up the Oregon coast past Dunes City, Florence and turning east at Waldport toward Alsea. Wow this is some nice riding country!
From their we made it up to Highway 20 and Rhys spotted a possible Pie Stop called Deb's Cafe.
Good call and great pie! We met a fellow Californian named Steve there riding a Suzuki DRZ 400 up from Napa on the Usal Road. Pretty amazing ride on small bore bike!
Still intermittently raining as we headed towards Dallas Oregon and up to McMinnville. This is ranch country with some beautiful views.
Tomorrow we head to the McMinnville Air Museum and then to Stevenson Washington, home of the Bridge of the Gods for the start to our off road adventure!
Hard to ride in all this traffic!
Like to meet the Landscape Architect!
High density Oregon Style!
Wears the front door to this place?
This plant seems to be an invasive species! Can anybody identify it?
Ok time for a new landscape maintenance contractor! Anybody seen my Firetruck?
Musta got robbed!
Steve rode this all the way from Napa via the Usal! Nice bike!
Nice ranch country up past Dallas and into Amity Oregon.
I want this sign! The goats look pretty good too.

  1. 1. Don't get arrested for stealing signs or goats!
    2. I gave no idea what that invasive species is.
